Yes, it has been a while since I posted but after the spring fair and silent auction I took a little trip. Mind you it wasn't to anywhere but just a trip away from doing auction things. Overall, the silent auction went great! We had an amazing group of volunteers who helped with various tasks. There were mailings, phone calls, picking up items, assembling baskets and more. THANK YOU to all who helped with the auction. The spring fair and silent auction were fun and a success. I got caught up in a bidding war for the Bate's Motel Haunted Hayride but alas I drove up the bidding price and the other person won out. My family did win one of the outdoor fun class baskets and we have been enjoying all the treats in that basket especially in this nice warm weather. Have a wonderful summer vacation!

It is so pleasant today. It was wonderful day to take my youngest to the Brandywine zoo. It's a small zoo but still fun. We both really enjoyed the river otters. Get out and enjoy your day!

Hard to believe that the auction is 2 days away. Come check out the fair and auction this Saturday at the United Sports Training Center. The fair is from 1-4pm. The silent auction bidding CLOSES at 3:30PM. At that time we will close the doors, tally the bids and announce the winners. Cost for the fair is $8 per child. Adults and children under 2 are free. It will be a fun time, plus I hear that the Science Guys will be there too to make slime and other gooey things. Here are some more things for the auction:

Sometimes I feel frazzled as things wrap up for the auction, but it's all coming along nicely due to the amazing group of parents and staff who helped get things ready for the auction. There is a spring in my step as flowers and trees are blooming. I just love all the colors of the spring season. Now if only I could do something about the bees and wasps and all would be good, except we wouldn't have all these beautiful flowers and trees around. This weather is just amazing. My youngest seems to think that it is warm enough to sunbathe in the stream of sunlight hitting our family room floor. She had on her sunglasses, her clothes (thankfully) and even got a wet towel because her forehead was getting "sweaty". Snowy days

I can't believe that we're having more snow. Will Spring ever come? If anything is nice in the snow is watching the birds eat from the bird feeders. It amazes me how they cling to the feeder in the strong wind gusts. I'll be waiting and looking for my favorite bird the robin since that is a sign of Spring.

With the blanket of snow that fallen, I thought this picture would be nice to look at instead. Don't get me wrong I like snow, but anything more than a few inches is a bit much. We couldn't even get the sled to move in it. If anything though we are able to make caves in the snow and pretend to mountain climbers so that part is OK. Spring, where art thou?

I was so happy to have a glimmer of spring this past Monday when after it rained all day it finally cleared and it was gorgeous outside. Even with these cold and blustery days my 4 year old has been able to find bliss. She pretends to be a Pegasus flying thru the sky. Meet Fred - Our Elf

This year I introduced The Elf on the Shelf to the family. We named him Fred so that he may begin his Christmas magic. He is really cute and reports to Santa each night as to whether the kids have been naughty or nice. Then when you wake up the next morning Fred is in a new place to watch what happens in the house. The kids really enjoy this part as they race downstairs to see who can find Fred first. Only a few times have I had to run down before them to help Fred "fly" to a new spot before they got to him. So that part may be taxing to remember to do each day, but it's worth it.

Fall into Fun

It's that time of year again, fall. It brings so many beautiful things such as fall leaves, cooler temperatures and outdoor fun. For me at Copeland Run Academy it also brings about planning for the Spring Fair and Silent Auction. It is my 4th year in chairing the auction so it seems like second nature for me now. And of course I wouldn't be able to do it without the amazing group of parent volunteers. Right now we are in the midst of assembling donation request letters. If you know anyone who would like to make a donation to the silent auction please contact me at radon71@yahoo.com. Put "auction" in the subject line. It could be your company, family member, friend or neighbor. All items are then auctioned off at the Spring Fair and Silent Auction on April 24, 2010 at the United Sports Training Center. Everyone wins, as the Copeland Run Parent's Association gets 100% of the proceeds and the highest bidder gets a terrific item. This years fundraising goal is raise money towards updating the existing playground equipment.

The weather today is amazing. I love it and the kids are happy being outside. Now if I could just get rid of some of those wasps and bees all would be good. I spent 10 minutes trying to get a carpenter bee with a fly swatter. He would dodge us and any bird that was near him. "Bob the Bee" was winning until he came face to face with a racket ball racket and lost out. I know that they are part of nature, but the kids shrieking in fear was no good for anyone.

I want to thank everyone for all their time towards the Spring Fair and Silent Auction. It was a great success and we met our financial goals. The kids will really enjoy the new picnic tables in the playground come this fall. Now, lets hope for no bees... :)

Today's weather is just awesome. The kids and I were at Lloyd park next to Copeland Run Academy for 2 hours and there is nothing better than that. They loved the enclosed volleyball court area full of sand. I almost felt like I was at the beach.

All Star Baseball Academy offers a 1 week baseball camp for kids ages 7-12. The camp will cover all aspects of baseball, ranging from hitting, fielding (infield and outfield), catching, base running and pitching. Camps are held at Great valley Little League (7/13-16) Exton Little League (7/27-30) or West Side Little League (8/3-8/6) ($185 value)

Spring Break

I'm looking forward to spring break to have time to kick back and not rushing. Some days it feels like there is a million things going on all at once. I need to remind myself to relax and smell the flowers as so many are beginning to bloom.

Hi. I plan to update the auction list later this week and stumbled across this idea from Chestercountymoms.blogspot.com. Post an easy themed recipe. I'm always looking for new recipes. Sounded fun so I thought I would try it out. Here's an easy crock pot recipe.
Chicken Chili
In the pot place in 2 lbs. boneless chicken, 28 oz diced tomatoes, 1 can black beans, 1 can corn, 1 pkg of chili seasoning. Cook for 8 hours low OR 4 hours high. Serve over rice.

Hi. Thank you to the silent auction committee for all of their hard work. Together we mailed out 170 letters to area businesses for donations. We'll keep you posted of what comes in. We've also had some Copeland Run families make donations from their business. Thus far we have a house cleaning from The Maids Home Service, tanning time at Hollywood Tans, a Godiva chocolate gift basket, and some art work.
